Born in 1957 and educated in Birmingham (Bournville School of Art) Rachel studied fine art at Norwich, then conservation of art at Lincoln College. Rachel gave up her work as a restorer of frescoes in 1997 to devote all her time to animal sculpture. Now a professional animaliere, her subjects are diverse and characterful and range from the domestic such as cats and horses to the exotic such as gorillas and even a tarantula. The horse paintings published by Beamers Designs show her knowledge and understanding of her subject matter and give an idiosyncratic view of a childhood with horses.
